Events
In addition to sharing its permanent collection galleries and presenting special exhibitions, the museum offers a wide variety of public programs, some of which complement or support visual art exhibitions, some of which stand alone.
Lectures and gallery talks illuminate visual art presentations, while family events offer less formal opportunities for parents and children to learn and have fun. Book clubs, run jointly by the education department and the Ingalls Library, examine books with artistic themes.
The museum has the longest-running continuous classical music program of any United States museum, and the department of performing arts and film adds to that tradition with world music concerts and an internationally respected film program.
