WinterGround is broken for Phase II of the renovation and expansion project, which includes a new west wing, and office/gallery wing to the north, a new basement level between the 1916 building and the north wing designed by Marcel Breuer, and a new glass-covered courtyard.
Installation of the galleries on the ground floor of the 1916 building is begun. These house the museum's holdings of ancient art, Early Christian, Byzantine, medieval, and early Renaissance art.
