WinterReinstallation of the museum's holdings of European art from the 16th through the early 19th centuries and American 18th and 19th century art is begun in the second floor galleries of the 1916 building.
SpringTransfer of the museum's collections to new storage rooms in the east wing is begun.
Preparations begin for the construction of Phase II of the renovation and expansion. The first step in this process will be the demolition of the additions built in 1958 and 1983.

FallThe installation of the second floor galleries of the new east wing is begun. These present the museum's holdings of late- 19th-century European art, modern European and American art, contemporary art, and photography.
The new special exhibition galleries in the east wing are inaugurated with the opening of
Artistic Luxury: Tiffany, Fabergé, Lalique, organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art.
